Ryan's Story

I’ve been cruising since I was a kid; what started as a family tradition turned into a livelihood that I love. Along the way, I’ve held senior roles with some of the world’s best-known cruise lines: Cunard, Seabourn, Holland America Line and P&O Cruises. Now, I’m using that experience to help others discover the kind of cruise that fits them best.

Over a 25-year corporate career, including 14 years in senior commercial roles with Carnival Corporation in Australia, I’ve worked across sales, marketing, partnerships, brand, and strategy. I’ve led teams, driven growth, built lasting industry relationships and helped shape the way cruising is sold and experienced in this region.

Cruising has always held a special place for me. I genuinely enjoy talking to people about cruising. To help others find, book and experience the right cruise feels like the perfect way to keep this passion alive!

That’s why I started The Cruise Advisory – to share my expertise and insights, and to guide people through every step of the cruise booking process. I’m committed to making sure everyone who works with me enjoys their cruise and feels confident they’ve secured real value.

I’ve taken more than 50 cruises across a wide variety of ships, itineraries, and travel styles. I’ve cruised solo for work, with family including toddlers and teens, and as part of large groups and conferences at sea. Let’s just say, I know my forward from my aft!

My focus is purely on cruising. For clients seeking complex, international, or luxury itineraries, I offer a personalised, high-touch advisory service. When I work with travellers through The Cruise Advisory, I bring my firsthand experience and industry relationships to help them through the process of choosing the right cruise with confidence and clarity.

I’m also a husband to Anita (a brilliant entrepreneur in her own right), a father to four incredible kids, and dog dad to Moana, our mini-schnauzer. I grew up in Baltimore, now live in Sydney, and I’m building The Cruise Advisory as a business that reflects how I think, how I work, and how I live: with intention, intelligence, and a strong sense of integrity.
